What is a Microgrid?

A microgrid system is a localized energy network that can generate, store, and distribute electricity independently or in coordination with the main power grid. It’s essentially a small-scale version of the traditional electrical grid, but built for specific communities, facilities, or regions.​

At Helios, our modular microgrid systems are designed to adapt to your environment, combining renewable energy, smart storage, and intelligent controls into one seamless network.

The Helios microgrid system is designed to maintain stable, reliable power no matter what happens to the main electrical grid.

At the center of the system is our Stable Energy Management System (SEMS), which automatically balances power from the utility, backup generators, and future solar panels so your facilities stay online without interruption. Even during an outage, the system switches to backup power in under 10 milliseconds, so fast that your equipment never skips a beat.

Each site receives at least seven hours of backup power, with options for even longer runtimes where needed. The system constantly monitors energy use, predicts power needs, and intelligently manages loads to reduce waste, prevent unexpected shutdowns, and help facilities operate more efficiently. Long-lasting LFP batteries provide years of dependable performance, while the modular design makes it easy to expand or upgrade in the future.
